Announcing the “New Bolton Block”

The Bolton Gas Block has been a very successful product for us. The Bolton Block has brought a new and improved way of lighting/shortening the front end of the gun as
well as creating a faster sight picture. The sleek design brings a new look and feel to the AK that has generated sales to fighting professionals all over the country and now internationally.

The New Version…

The newest version of the Bolton Gas Block will now accommodate predrilled 90 degree and 45 degree gas ports. It is now compatible with most all-standard AK barrels and will not require a different barrel or relocating the gas port. Additionally we have added
the ability to pin the Bolton Gas Block. While we have had tremendous success with the block in its old configuration, there has been concern from some that the block could fail due to not being pinned. We know of only 2 instances where this has happened but in both cases the block had been removed and reinstalled incorrectly. In an effort to offer the best product we can, we have now added the pinning feature to satisfy even the most discerning professional.

The Bolton Gas Block will be a standard feature on our new line of production guns coming out Later this year.

Sonny Puzikas and Jim Fuller team up to bring a 3 day AK training event to Northern Nevada

Nov. 11-13th 2011

Sonny Puzikas former Russian Spetznaz operator, and one of the Worlds foremost trainers in fighting with the AK is teaming up with Jim Fuller of Rifle Dynamics to bring you 3 days of AK specific training.

Day one will be the AK armorers class with Jim Fuller and Billy Cho of Rifle Dynamics.

Followed by 2 days of action packed AK rifle training with Sonny Puzikas. The shooting portion of event will be held at a private range in the beautiful Carson Valley near Lake Tahoe.

The Armorers portion of the class will be held at Bullseye Nevada.

The Rifle Dynamics AK 47 Stock Adapter

This exciting new product from Rifle Dynamics allows you to add an AR-15/M-4 stock tube to your AK with no modifications to the gun or your stock tube. With just a screwdriver you can remove your existing AK stock and attach our new stock adapter with the provided screws and Allen wrench. With this new adapter there is no longer a need to cut off the original stock tang making it very easy to install while maintaining the factory configuration of your AK rifle.

The RD AK stock adapter is milled from billet Aluminum finished in Norrells flat black Moly Resin and will fit most all fixed stock AK variants.

The small compact design of the RD AK stock adapter makes it quite unnoticeable while only adding 5/8” to the length of pull. Additionally the adapter raises the stock tube slightly higher on the bore line allowing for a better cheek weld for the iron sights of the AK.

Red Jacket Visits Rifle Dynamics

March 19th 2011 Will Hayden, Stephanie Hayden and Chris Ford from Red Jacket Firearms stopped by for a visit to Rifle Dynamics shop. They were on a well-deserved vacation from their shop and “Sons of Guns” filming.

Will and I discussed the state of the AK business while Stephanie and Karen discussed running the admin side of business with a bunch of Type A gun guys and Chris and my guys discussed techniques and processes for building AK style weapons. It was a great visit culminating in a nice dinner and some Vegas excitement afterwards.

"Sons of Guns"

Just got back from filming another guest appearance on Discovery channels new reality TV show “Sons of Guns”. The ratings for this show have been 2-3 times higher than they expected so it looks like Discovery has a hit on their hands.

I have been very excited about this show and the fact it is being done in a way to show guns and gun owners in a good/fun/exciting way. The producers and crew are great to work with. This became evident as the weather really caused problems with flight delays and cancellations that left me stuck in Dallas for 30 hours while trying to get to Baton Rouge for the filming. The production staff was awesome about making sure I was comfortable during the whole travel ordeal.

Once I got to Baton Rouge I was picked up and taken directly to the filming location. Can’t discuss what happens in the show but I can say it will certainly be worth watching. It was great to see Will, Stephanie, Joe, Kat, Kris, Vince and all the great folks at Red Jacket. Not to mention finally meeting Tony Rumore of Tromix in person.

Rifle Dynamics First SHOT Show Open House

Las Vegas, NV is home to not only Rifle Dynamics, but it is also where the SHOT show is held every year. Whenever our customers are in town for SHOT Show they always call wanting to visit the shop. We have received so many requests that we have decided to hold an Annual Open House during the Shot Show when in Las Vegas.

On January 19th, 2011 we held our 1st Annual SHOT Show Open House, we would like to thank the 90-100 people that stopped by to pay us a visit this year.

Issues regarding the Bolton Gas Block

We have been using the Bolton Gas Block from Venom Tactical for about 5 years now. It has been a big seller for us as it is a truly great improvement for the AK series rifles. The Bolton Block is a combination gas block/front sight designed to allow the shorting and lightening of the AK front end. The Bolton block along with cutting down the barrel and pinning your muzzle device will allow the gun to have an overall length that is about 2” less than the overall length of the standard AK without making it a short barreled rifle. It also reduces the overall weight of the AK by about 10%.

As successful as the Bolton Block has been there are still those that are concerned that because the block is attached by set screws (as opposed to pinning) it is subject to being moved by the gas pressure created by the AK. To those who are concerned about this issue I ask you to look at the following example of just how well they will hold.

We received one of our customers RD builds that had the Bolton Block installed with the barrel cut down to 12.5 inches and running a suppressor. This set up creates tremendous gas pressure on the AK system. During the use of this gun the gas pressure was so strong it actually blew the gas port (drilled at a 45 degree angle) forward to a point where the gas port was opened up and moved in front of the gas block and yet the block did not move at all and the gun still ran.

We believe that this example proves that when properly installed the Bolton Block is just as strong as the original pinned blocks that are normally used.

I have found Jim Fuller's Rifle Dynamics to be one of the few, truly qualified companies that can improve the AK platform beyond its out-of-the-box potential. Jim reports being impressed and attracted by the simplicity and the reliability of most Soviet-block weapons. This led him to studying the AK system of operation beginning in the early 1990s. This was reinforced over the years due to the AK being frowned upon by most gunsmiths limiting who you could find to work on an AK system.

As previously posted Rifle Dynamics is expanding, we have added 1200Sq. feet of office and workspace as well as some new equipment. This will greatly improve our services to you with the added room to move and work.

With this new space we will be adding a few more people our first addition is AJ Adams.
AJ is a very skilled administrator as well as many other talents. AJ’s main job for now will be answering emails. As we have grown the amount of emails we receive are beyond our ability to keep up with them in a timely manner. AJ will be fielding these contacts in a way that will help get your questions answered and orders processed in a timely manner. We trust that you all will like dealing with AJ, I have spent a lot of time with him and he has my confidence that he can help you through the basic steps required and of course he will forward any emails on to Dan or myself for questions that require more detailed knowledge. This will allow for better communications and an overall better experience with Rifle Dynamics.

We expect 2011 to be a very busy year for us, our growth has been incredible thanks to our customers and their referrals and we thank you all for that. Throughout or growth we have had issues with communications and our schedule. My wife and I are new to being business owners and the learning curve has been very sharp. We didn’t have a big bank account to start our business with so we have grown on cash flow and the reputation of being one of the best AK/fighting rifle shops in the country. We want to offer you the best service we can so we are constantly trying to find ways to improve our service to you.

One upside to the bad economy is our landlord has offered us a very good price for more space, so we will be doubling our sq. footage. Our current shop is just a shop no office facilities. We have been working out of our home office and this has caused a lot of issues that affect our service to you. That will change for the better now with the new expansion. We are interviewing new administrative help and when we find the right person we expect our ability to serve you will improve greatly.

As we prepare for the expansion things will be tight and the office will be shut down for the last 3-4 days of October. Karen will still be answering the phones but we will not be shipping our answering emails for those days.

As we move through this transition we appreciate your patience and look forward to a great year.
