Billy Cho
Billy Cho was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, and continues to explore new adventures in Sin City. He currently is the Production Manager for Rifle Dynamics, a FFL/SOT 07 manufacturer located in the southeastern side of Las Vegas. We are extremely happy to have Billy working with us, as he polishes his firearm craftsmanship skills, producing some of the finest fighting rifles available in this country today. Billy Cho is very meticulous and knowledgeable dealing with many different firearms platforms, and is always looking to make improvements on the guns he produces in our facility. One of his most notable achievements to date is producing a short-barreled Saiga 12 shotgun at Rifle Dynamics developed in 2010. It has become known as the “CHO GUN”.
Our customers love it!
Born in the early eighties, Billy’s interest in weapon craft started at a young age and by the age of 5, he was crafting popsicle stick switchblades and paper guns. A life long interest in firearms started early and he saved money as a kid to buy his first BB gun. He has come a long way since than.
In his teen years, Billy became extremely interested in highly tuned import and drift cars. He started developing machining skills to deal with modifications and increased performance for friend’s vehicles, including his own car. As his interest grew, Billy teamed up with a gear head friend customizing streetcars into his mid twenties. Mechanical devices became second nature to Billy as he developed diagnostic skills with the proper techniques to make almost anything work with the right application of these skills.
Another phase of Billy’s life started around the age of 13 when he started break dancing as an original member of the Knucklehead Zoo group. This group represented the USA three times in the World Championships “Battle of the Year International” held in Germany (2005, 2006 & 2009). Billy continues to manage this group called Knucklehead Zoo after he retired as a formal break dance competitor.
In 2008-2009, Billy did a stint as an assistant pyrotechnics technician with a company in Las Vegas, which involved layout, loading and controlling pyrotechnics for local show events. It appears Billy likes anything that goes bang or boom! Billy’s pastime with firearms came to the forefront as his interest in gun building continued to peak. Up to this time, he was a casual shooter but it quickly became a passion including a serious focus on defensive tactical firearms work.
Billy started with Rifle Dynamics in 2009 and quickly became a noteworthy Gunsmith
and expert in the mechanical operation of the AK and AR series of rifles. A
very skilled operator with all the equipment in our shop, Billy is mastering his
machining skills that include welding (Tig and Mig), lathe, Mill, and custom
fabrications. Other skills required in the firearms fabrication process are airbrush
and gravity fed painting techniques used in refinish of the firearms. Billy is
the "Go-To" guy in the Rifle Dynamics manufacturing shop.
Not only can Billy build rifles, he has continued his training in firearm handling
and use in many different areas including tactical, defensive and precision
shooting. As time permits, he continues to hone his skills in firearms tactical
training with Travis Haley of Haley Strategic Partners, Sonny Puzikas with
Gospel of Violence, ATAC TV Firearms instructors, Mark Flinn, Lenny Bolton and
Jim Fuller among others. He has spent time training with a couple of competitive
sport shooters too. Billy knows how to run a gun as well as he builds them, and is
on the path to become a very skilled operator.
Some of you might know Billy Cho from the popular TV reality show "Sons of
Guns" featuring Red Jacket Firearms currently playing on the Discovery channel.
Rifle Dynamics crew including Billy were participants in two episodes of the
current show, and visited Red Jacket Firearms during the filming. He became
well known nationwide because of his hairstyle and the ever-present WHITE
Oakley EYEPATCH sunglasses.
We are very fortunate Billy is part of the Rifle Dynamics team.
